3.3: Julie Masura—Studying the health of the Puget Sound

This episode features Ashley Carle, the Environmental Procedures Coordinator & NEPA Specialist for the Washington State Department of Transportation. Ashley shares with us her involvement in studying environmental issues in Puget Sound, including harmful algae and emerging pollutants from road runoff. During her time as a research scientist, her focus has grown to include an inclusion lens to ensure her agency’s work conscientiously ensures underrepresented community members benefit from their work.
